Fish Fight We couldn't resist a snoop around the Old Town and then a quick hop to St Leonards, where art is blooming.

This weeks Illustration Friday topic is Sweater. As children we would take turns in having one knitted for us by my Mum. This involved a trip to the Wool Shop in Bridgend to pick a pattern and stare at shelves groaning with balls of wool. My school uniform jumpers were mohair and extra fluffy. Now if I see a black and white cropped striped sweater in a shop, it ends up coming home with me. I have quite a collection.

I am starting a new series of coast paintings, in essence - cats and dogs enjoying themselves at the beach. If you have a photograph of your pet from a distance, sitting in a boat, by a beach hut, ice cream van or perhaps doing a spot of shrimping, I would love to see it.

In our Studio reshuffle we are parting with quite a few of our treasures and furniture in exchange for gold coins. We have three curved desks with drawers, a huge light box, decorative shelving, an unused sewing machine, a stylish manneqin and our much loved snake eyes sofa. Buyers should bring their own muscles and white van. Please email me for details.

I have a new role 'Advertising Officer' for South East Open Studios (SEOS). There is just one week left for advertisers who wish to promote themselves in our printed Guide, distributed to 30,000 people in Kent and East Sussex this May.
In 2011 Members were asked to create their own version of the SEOS logo, reflecting the range of emerging and established artists working in print, glass, metal, ceramics, photography, textiles, wire and wood. Above is my least blobby monoprint logo.

"Hello this is the Operator speaking, will you accept a reverse charges call?"
Our mustard coloured family phone sat on a high bookcase in the lounge. Aged eight I was allowed to answer it, I had to say Coychurch 2302 (this was 1976), yes I'll fetch them (it was never for me), who is calling please?

Two weeks later, we are still decorating, I am mildly grumpy. As a final torment, Mr PWP is touching up the beams with what looks like tar. Next Monday we move studios, hurrah.
From a corner of my old studio, hidden behind pine chests and boxes, a new series of coastal paintings are underway. I saw an advert saying 'Publisher seeks artist' and hey ho - I have an opportunity to submit work. I also have a Lurcher commission. Last but not least, I have some large still life paintings in progress for Cupboard Love, our Spring exhibition.
