Monoprinting

You need a sheet of plastic from your framer
A roller, water based block printing ink, pencil and cartridge paper from an art supplies store
Roll an ink rectangle, roughly the same size as your cartridge paper, on the plastic
Lay your paper lightly on top of the ink
Draw over your sketch again, pressing harder where you want darker lines
Rub the paper lightly with your finger to pick up ink blobs and patterns
Peel back your paper
There, in reverse, is your print
Wash ink off plastic and roller, then repeat process for other designs
Monoprinting is messy, I wear a shirt and work in a room with a large sink and washable floor

  1. I do like your mono's. I use my scratched acrylic sheets for this technique, too.

They're also a good stable base for collage using deli-wrap and acrylic gel medium.
