Not one, but both Bernards have left the building. These early cattle paintings were exhibited in June 2008 at my first South East Open Studio, so I am a little sad to see them go. Bernard is actually a girl, who grazes near Herstmonceux Castle, named by one of my customers after the character in Black Adder.

Has been memorable for the number of frogs, mushrooms and conkers underfoot. The combination of frogs and dogs has led to some gruesome encounters.

Sighthound Christmas Cards

We are approaching the festive season and the Herstmonceux Christmas trail, where I enthuse villagers, shopkeepers and children to decorate their doors or windows to make the village look even prettier than usual. This year's theme is ‘Christmas Stockings’, so to get the ball rolling I have designed some 'Santa’s Little Helper' Christmas Cards. The highlight of 2009 for me, has been adopting Finn our Lurcher and Bea our Greyhound and helping them settle into their new home. So I have three Sighthound designs; whippet, greyhound & lurcher - complete with knitted stockings. The cards have been printed by Abacus Colour Printers Ltd and delivered this week. Once packed they will be available to buy online.

Herstmonceux Primary School

I was invited to talk to Year 2 about 'Our Local Area' and what we do here at Arts Hut. There was time to do a small sketching workshop, drawing our hands. After my visit I received the most beautiful thank you card with 30 self portraits inside, which has been proudly displayed in the Gallery window this week. Above some of my favourite images.
