Harold Mockford

Having missed the John Piper exhibition earlier this year, I was determined not to miss the retrospective of Harold Mockford at the Towner in Eastbourne.
It was lovely.
Plus there was a John Piper collage downstairs.
Have a look here

Heavy rain has returned. It is also cold.
I have booked a few days at my favourite holiday bungalow, to work and play.
The hounds amuse themselves forming heaps.

Working on a 'little something' for Miss Pickering and The Hound.

Bea's teeth have always been a cause for concern, she doesn't chew.
We have tried various 'dental products'. This week off to the vets for the full works.
13 small teeth have been removed.
We collected a small greyhound who had been hypnotised by the snake in Jungle Book.
The first night was uncomfortable, then we made a giant soft bed out of duvets, pillows and old jumpers. All is now well in the world.

West End House Gallery, Smarden

Today we collected my coast paintings here - the Gallery is drop dead gorgeous.
If you ever need a gift or treat, I would recommend here.
The original wooden shop fittings, shelving and drawers are groaning with unusual hand crafted objects, including funky sheep and fish.
Plus suitcases, for those of us that like a rummage.
A bowl of water and dog biscuits for hounds.
A bowl of sweeties by the door for humans, containing parma violets.
Smarden itself is picture postcard lovely, with other shops run out of people front rooms.
Just like being at home...

Fruit Cake

Dropped off my paintings, not anticipating a bake off.
I don't make cakes, but I know people that do, phew!
Hats off to Mrs Coppack the baker aka Liz's Mum
Delivered by Mr Coppack aka Liz's Dad who simply said "raspberry"
Did I remember to bring the fancy tin home - nope.

September Art Exhibition

The week has flown by and this is the last weekend at Wadhurst.
There was a velcro (or lack of) incident, fortunately my mate sorted it.
Two Galleries have asked to exhibit the paintings in October and November and I have one possible commission... so far.
I shall be there on Sunday from 3pm - 4pm.

Dog Portraits

In between putting up and taking down exhibitions, fixing the roof, going to the framers and vets.
I have squeezed in a few dog portraits for friends.

Up On The Roof

"Fixing a hole where the rain came in..."
Not me, obviously.
My role was to make the coffee and answer questions about drips.
Never met roofers fussy about their coffee beans, until now.
