World Book Night in Herstmonceux

I was expecting conversations about gay men, butterscotch angel delight, ham with fat around the edges and Fray Bentos pies. I was not disappointed. The first couple through the door also brought me sweet 'moulds' to barter for their copy of 'Toast'. Our home used to be a Sweet Factory, all bits and bobs of sweet production are gratefully received.
Then a steady stream of people who hadn't known about World Book Night, but had noticed Arts Hut was open on a Saturday again. My new opening hours have gone down like a lead balloon. I agreed to open Wednesday to Saturday, like in the good old days.
They left with their books and strict instructions to watch the Culture Show 'World Book Night' programme
