I have lived within 10 miles of the West Wales coast all of my life. (We do cliffs in a big way!) I was telling my husband this morning that I have never been to a proper, long, drawn-out beach with groynes. I like bleak places, so must shake myself to make the effort one day!

The down side of Winchelsea Beach seems to be the sand is dark and gloopy. Every now and then it swallows your foot whole!
