Art School Looking Through May 2019

May was the first time this year we've all been able to work outside in comfort. The students were sent links to Alice Mumford and Andrew Wyeth films, paintings and publications. Earlier lessons about tone were revisited and some works were created using three tones of ultramarine or burnt Sienna paint. The outbuildings and sheds at Margot's place (also known as the former Gopsall Pottery) are wonderful places to draw with tall plants providing height and sculptural curves, softening the lines formed by the window frames.
