Collage

The Class today was 'Collage' inspired by Sheds and Caravans, videos in advance were a short tutorial in collage from ancient history through to photoshop, plus a short film showing Matisse making cut outs. The instruction given was to imagine you were seven years of age, most students found that 'therapeutic' and 'easy'.  Margot read us a few snippets about Picasso.
I had a chance to take a few quick snaps of some of the works made.
So homework for those who would like some is:
Create a collage about a person you know, that could be used as a birthday card or picture
Paint some papers in blues and greens & make a collage inspired by the sea
Create a collage of your garden, showing a raised bed, fencing, furniture or sheds
Produce a work using a mix of media you haven't tried before e.g. pen and wash
Don't forget to draw, even for five minutes every day and keep your doodles and scribbles!
